FIGHTER FRIDAY![]()
Let’s say hello to Robert ![]()
Robert was first officially diagnosed in 2021 with Parkinson’s disease.
In 2017 he was sure that he had Parkinson’s due to the tremors in his hands, balance issues and his fine motor skills, yet he wasn’t ready to hear that diagnosis until he retired in 2021 when he decided to pursue an official diagnosis.
One of the things that Robert loves to do is ride motorcycles, and he was finding that he was unable to ride as well and not feeling safe to do any long distance rides due to his fine motor skill and balance issues.
After reading about Rock Steady Boxing on line, he joined to see if this could actually help, and it has!
Robert’s stamina, strength and his fine motor skills have definitely gotten much better and he has just returned from a 28 day 7300 mile motorcycle ride from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean.
He says if you are recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s, don’t be afraid, get involved outside of yourself finding someone that can mentor and guide you and go join a group like Rock Steady Boxing, it will help you regain your life back!
Robert throws a mean punch and is always a pleasure to have in our classes and his kindness to others always shows!
